Enugu Govt boosts transport sector with N26bn investment

In his determination to grow the economy of the state and raise the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from $4.4billion to $30 billion, Enugu state Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah has attracted a N26billion worth of  investment to the transport sector in the state.

Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Obi Ozor made this known, during a press briefing on the outcome of the State Executive council meeting held Friday, September 22,2023 ,at the Nike Lake Resort, Enugu.

He said there is a  concession  for the Enugu Transport Company (Entraco) and the concession , will see to the revival  of  Entraco.

“It creates an opportunity for inter -states  transportation, which will pull a lot of investors from different places to  Enugu . It will also bring intra-city CNG powered buses to the state, to help bring safer , affordable and efficient transportation  for Ndi Enugu.

“This opportunity also helps us to attract an assembly plant both for buses and  vehicles across the state which will create thousands of  jobs” he said. 

Ozor added that the monumental transaction by the Governor will not only  bring efficient transportation in the state, it will also move Enugu close to it’s industrialization goals
