Church of Resurrection Power (Anglican Communion)New Haven ,Enugu celebrated mothering Sunday today, March 10,2024, with a call on mothers to be on the guard and always pray fervently for their children and husbands to be able to surmount the challenges facing their homes and society at large.

A wife of an Anglican priest ,Mrs Chinonso Nwankwo who gave the advice at the Church of Resurrection Power ,New Haven Enugu, during a sermon to mark this year’s mothering Sunday emphasized that mothers and everything that matters in their lives were for signs and wonders.

Mrs Nwankwo assured mothers that their stars would continue to shine untill wonders happen in their lives.
She said ,”our children will be problem solvers to mysteries in this generation.”

Mrs Nwankwo advised mothers to play a leading role in inculcating good morales in lives of their children stressing that the enemies may atimes struggle to put evil behavioral pattern on the children, but committing them to the hands of God and doing their part would go a long way to win some of these children back.
She advised mothers to continue talking to their children with love to correct some of their anomalies as well as prayer for their husbands always.
She explained that if mothers want things to change in their homes and the society,they should go down on their knees and talk to God for his intervention.

The service featured so many activities by the women,songs and drama by the children,General prayer by the Vicar of the Church, Venerable George Obiekezie who prayed for the women to progress in land, healing of different ailments and God ‘s intervention in the socio economic challenges in the country.
Some Women were honoured by the mothers and the church for their outstanding performance in the church.
The wife of the Vicar, Mrs Model Obiekezie while presenting the award said the award of recognition and longevity was to appreciate the Golden Mothers for their outstanding services in the church and women ministry.

Some of the Women who received award include mother to the Manager News ,Radio Nigeria, Comrade Ifeoma Amuta -Okeke, Ambassador Mabel Amuta , The pioneer choirmistres, Mrs ifeyinwa Maduechesi, Mrs Selina Orjiakor,Mrs Josephine Ani ,Mrs Chinwe Nwankwo,Mrs Christiana Aniekwe,Mrs Josephine Ogbodo among others .
One of the award recipients, Ambassador Mabel Amuta thanked the church especially the women for the honour (award of longevity and golden Mother) assuring of her continued service to the work of God.
