Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ ,Enugu State Secretariat,wishes happy Independence and new month to all its members and Nigerians all over the world.
The union in a statement signed by the Council’s Secretary, Dame Ifeoma Amuta and made available to newsmen on Sunday , October 1, in Enugu, urged Nigerians not to loose faith in God no matter the challenges.
The statement which was released on behalf of the State Council’s chairman, Comrade Sam Udekwe reads:
“This is the Sixty third year Nigeria gained her independence from the British government/Colonial Masters.
“We should celebrate this independence because God gave us life. Despite all economic Challenges in the society,we are going to triumph.
“God will have mercy on his people especially Journalists who are watch dogs of the Society.
“We believe that government will give priority attention to the needs of Journalists in the state for optimal performance .
“On Behalf of the Council Chairman, Comrade Sam Udekwe,I say may we keep faith and hope for better tomorrow,”Amuta said
