Enugu House of Assembly hails CP Uzuegbu’s policing stride, urges him to maintain tempo

Members of the Enugu State House of Assembly Committee on Youths, Sports and Security Matters have commended Commissioner of Police, Enugu command, Kanayo Uzuegbu for his policing strides since assuming duty as the Commissioner of the State Command

Raymond Ugwu, made this known when they paid a courtesy on the Commissioner of Police.in his office on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.

According to Ndukwe, the Chairman, while describing the deployment of CP Uzuegbu as a blessing to Enugu State on behalf of the members of the Committee, urged the Commissioner and his officers and men to sustain the tempo and remain undaunted in stabilizing the security.

Welcoming the Committee members, CP Uzuegbu thanked them for the visit and their collective appreciation of the modest policing strides of the Command. He assured them of the unalloyed commitment of the police to continue to combat acts of crime and criminality in the State. He commended the entire members of the State House for the orderly manner in which they have been conducting the legislative affairs of the State.

In a related development, the Commissioner of Police received a delegation from the Defense Intelligence College, comprising directing staff and participants of the Defense Intelligence Course 21, 2024, who were on study tour of Enugu State.

The CP, while enlightening the course participants on the policing activities of the Command towards maintaining adequate public security and safety in the State, took time to expose them to the measures taken by the Police to curb the violent crime of kidnapping for ransom in the State.

Speaking during the tour, the leader of the delegation and Deputy Commandant of the College, Group Captain M. F. Borgu thanked the Commissioner of Police and his management team for the warm reception accorded them. He said “Curbing Kidnapping for Ransom in Nigeria” was the theme of the study tour, stressing that they embarked on the tour to get insights into how the Command has been handling general security challenges in Enugu State

Command’s management team joined the CP to receive and interact with the members of the Enugu State House of Assembly Committee and the delegation from the Defence Intelligence College respectively.
