End sit-at- home:in Enugu : Gov Mbah monitors, scores  compliance 60%

Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, Monday June 5,2023, visited the State Secretariat and some markets to monitore the level of compliance of the  End sit-at- home directive he issued on Friday,June,2.and scored it between 60-70%.

Fielding questions from Newsmen after  the visits, Governor Mbah said he went round, “to check   the level of compliance and ensure that our people come out and do their businesses.. We do have the compliance of 60-70%..The compliance started today . We issued a statement on Friday. Let’s assume that some people did not get it. “

Governor Mbah said that the target of the state government is to see that people are productive .” Our people are known for hardwork. We cannot have people who do not have a stake to the economy to dictate to us when we will go to work and when we will sit at home.

He urged the people of the state to go about their duties every Monday , assuring them  of their safety.

He said the devastating effects of the.  Sit-at- – home is enormous, socially, economically and otherwise.

At the Office of head of Service, Governor Mbah was received by the  Head of Service , he visited some offices from where he went to the state Secretariat. 

A Civil servant who pleaded anonymity attributed the low compliance to  lack of transportation and fear of bring attack

The   governor who was accompanied by the Secretary to the store Governors, Professor Chidiebere Onyia also visited ministry of lands ,Office of the Accountant General of the State, Ministry of Finance and Ogbete market among others.
