Police in Udenu Area Command of Enugu State Police Command have arrested two male suspects for stealing 26 water tanks in Enugu.
Police Public relations officer, Enugu DSP Daniel Ndukwe disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Enugu.
According to Ndukwe, the suspects Chiegeonu Eze , 22 years and Obinna Ezeugwu 23,
were arrested with the assistance of law-abiding citizens, in the morning hours of 23/3/2023 at Amube-Ohum in Orba community , Udenu Local Government Area.
“The duo, who were found to be specialized in stealing water tanks, commonly called Gee-Pee tank, from building construction sites in the community, were arrested while attempting to steal two tanks from mea site on the said date. The two (2) tanks and seven (7) others were recovered from them, while their confessional statements led to the further recovery of seventeen (17) others from one of their receivers of the stolen tanks, who is at large.
“Owners of the tanks have been identifying them, while upon conclusion of the investigation, the suspects were arraigned in court and accordingly remanded to Nsukka Custodial Centre for further hearing”, Ndukwe said..
