An Igbo socio-cultural Think Tank group, “Nzuko Umunna” , has urged President Muhammad Buhari to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) ,Mazi Nnamdi Kanu held in detention.
The call was contained in an Eight-point Communique issued at the end of group’s programme ,”Handshake Across Nigeria”, held on Friday in Enugu.
In the Communique titled “Umunna Communique”,read by Ikeazor Akaraiwe,SAN, the group appealed for release of IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. They also called for South East Economic integration.
According to the group, equity, justice, fairness in Nigeria were tool for development, and construction of projects, Handshake were tool for national unity.
They announced investiture of the new executive of NU. The group said that the focal point of the new Executive is the economic integration in the South East.
The Communique stated that “National unity is a necessary imperative and
Nzuko Umunna,”NU remains committed to Nigeria unity and integration and will continue to push this narrative.”
