Members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists,NAWOJ, Enugu state chapter on Friday, paid an unscheduled visit to motherless babies/persons living with disabilities at Mother Louisa Charity home,Udi siding, Enugu, to identify with them and present cash, food items and, toiletries to them.
Addressing the inmates ,chairperson of NAWOJ, Comrade Ngozi Ngene, said the visit was in the spirit of Lenten season, which calls for show of5 love. She promised to make the visit a quarterly event.
Speaking on behalf of others, 12-year-old Sopuluchukwu Okwoma, who is the head of the class, prayed God to bless Enugu state Governor ,Rt. Hon(Dr) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. Sopulu, who displayed his talent in beating of musical instruments (band) ,said he could also play guitar. He appealed to Governor Ugwuanyi to come to their aid and purchase musical instruments,” guiter, long amps”, food items, drinks for them .He also appealed to the Governor to build a home for them at their land in Emene.
Receiving the group Administrative Officer of the home, Ejike Goodness , thanked them for the visit and gifts. She said the home was established in October ,2010 to provide shelter for the motherless and persons living with disabilities.
She said that they depend on charity to run the home, Ejike appealed to the government, Corporate organizations and individuals to assist them , especially in developing their empty plot ( their permanent site )at Emene. She prayed God to bless NAWOJ members.
Presentation of items and cash donation was made by the NAWOJ chairperson, Comrade Ngozi Ngene.
