Governor of Enugu state, Dr Peter Mbah has assured continued collaboration with the Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, in order to grow the state’s economy and build the confidence of foreign investors and tourists to choose Enugu as their premium destination.
The governor gave the assurance on Tuesday when he received the newly posted State Comptroller of Immigration,
Mrs Angelina Sambo , who paid him a courtesy visit alongside other senior officers of the command.

The governor acknowledged the pivotal role of the NIS in ensuring that Nigerians are issued legitimate travel documents to ensure their safety and security in the foreign countries.
He promised to provide utility vehicles and other work tools for all the security agencies in the state to enhance their smooth operations.
Earlier, the State Comptroller of Immigration, Mrs Angelina Sambo explained that the NIS is one of the relevant security agencies charged with the statutory responsibility of ensuring the security and socio-economic stability of Nigeria, its component states and citizens.
She promised that Enugu state command will continue to operate within the ambit of the laws to check, control, as well as monitor the presence of non-Nigerians and their activities in Enugu State.
Mrs Sambo said the Service has continued to carry out series of reforms in passport issuance and administration as well as migration management to ensure a smooth, safe and regular migration.
