Enugu to  host 1st  National Council on Sports Technical conference , May,20-22

Enugu state Government will host the maiden edition of the National Council on Sports Technical conference  on  May,20- May 22, 2024

Commissioner for  Youths and Sports, Lyold Ekweremadu Jnr. made this known at a media chat held on Saturday in Enugu.

According  to him , the National Conference  with the Theme ” Sports For National Unity and Socio- Economic Growth’  will hold from Monday 20th – Wednesday 22nd May,  2024, at  the Old Government Lodge, GRA, Enugu. He  added that the State will host Commissioners of Sports ,Permanent Secretaries  and Directors of Sports from the 36 States and FCT, as well as National Secretaries of Sports Federations and officials from Federal Ministry of Sports Development.

Ekweremadu, said Enugu State has recorded successes  in  hosting Coal- City Half  Marathon,  and in enacting  Enugu State Sports Development Fund Law  designed to help raise fund for sports in the State, 1st Mixed Martial Arts Caged  fight, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah Boxing Championship. In addition  the state has completed FIFA artificial Turf at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium and 

 Enugu Rangers have staged a come back to the city after the successful rehabilitation of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium .                                          

 The Commissioner said the  leading position of Rangers International in the current league year is also heart warming. 

 “The hosting of this conference is yet another indication of the commitment of Enugu  state government to the development of sports in the state. We welcome all delegates and hope they will find time to savor the hospitality of the Coal City ,” he said .

Ekweremadu thanked the state  Governor , Dr. Peter  for his support and approval to host the Conference.

He said Enugu State government and the good people of  Enugu State welcome  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of  Sports, Development, Senator John Owan Enoh,, and participants to the 1st National Council On Sports Delegate  Conference.
