CP Kanayo receives Award for “Security Excellence”, assures strengthened working relationship

In recognition and commendation of his “impressive performance in crime reduction in Enugu State since his assumption of duty” as Commissioner of Police of the State Command, natives of Anambra State, under the aegis of Anambra State People in Enugu (ASPE), today, April 25, 2024, honoured the Commissioner of Police, Kanayo Uzuegbu with the Security Excellence Award.

Speaking after receiving the award at the organization’s event, which was held at the Recreation Club Hall, Ogui Road, Enugu, the CP thanked the organizers immensely for the award, assuring them of his unwavering commitment towards actualizing a more peaceful and secured Enugu State.

Statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, of the Command,DSP Daniel Ndukwe made available on Thursday,said, the CP visited the Honourable Commissioner for Justice and the Attorney-General (AG)of Enugu State, Dr . Kingsley Edeh, in his office in Enugu.

According to him, the CP thanked and appreciated the AG and the Ministry for the cordial and robust working relationship that has existed between the Police and the Ministry.

He noted that the police and the ministry cannot afford not to work harmoniously and expeditiously if the goals of the criminal administration system are to be achieved in Enugu State. Hence, he requested a strengthened and more effective working relationship between the organizations.

The Attorney General, while welcoming the CP, commended his firm commitment to stabilizing the security order in Enugu State. He appreciated the fact that the police, under his leadership, has worked assiduously to improve the level of security in the State, particularly in the area of vigorously enforcing the order of the Governor of the State, Dr. Peter Mbah, which ended the illegal sit-at-home order in the State.

The AG assured the CP that the ministry will continue to foster a harmonious and productive working relationships with the police.
