Women Committee of the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC)Enugu State, Thursday,March 15, celebrated the 2024 edition of the International women’s Day, with the theme “Inspire Inclusion”.
At the event held at the Rt. Hon.(Dr.) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi NUJ Press Center ,Enugu, the Chairperson of the group, Comrade Rose Ugwu in her. address, lamented that “women have faced countless obstacles and challenges because of their gender. Yet, time and again, they have risen above adversity, breaking barriers and shattering stereotypes. From the women who fought for the right to vote to the activists who continue to advocate for gender equality today, women have been at the forefront of every major social and political
She urged women to continue to work hard “and create a world where every woman a d girl can fulfill her potentials free from discrimination and violence”.

The event which hosted the First Lady of Enugu State ,Mrs Nkechinyere Mbah (represented by her Senior Special Assistant,Dr. Uzoamaka Okenwa ) and Commissioner for Children Gender Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Ngozi Enih, represented by the Perm Sec,Mrs Nkechi Ewoh was Chaired by the state NLC Chairman, Comrade Fabian Nwigbo with lecture on “inclusion by investing in Women Workers” ,delivered by Barrister Nnenna Anozie .
A paper on “Relevant Women in the Millennium” was also ,presented by Barrister Sylvia Abana

The event attracted female representatives of various unions and Stakeholders in NLC as well as the State President of National Council for Women Societies ,Mrs Chichi Ogbu.
