WACCA  redeems pledge in support of  TAMAR -SARC upgrade

A Non- Governmental Organisation, Women and  Children Charity Action Organization (WACCA) and Sexual and Gender- based Violence  Justice Network (SJN), Wednesday, February 28, 2024, paid a visit to TAMAR-SARC Enugu , to redeem the  pledge WACCA  made in the last public private partnership programme organized by SJN  to support the upgrade of TAMAR-SARC , Enugu.

Presenting the plegded item( Microwave ) to TAMAR-SARC Center manager, Evelyn Onah,  the founder of WACCA,  Maudrine  Nwakauche , said  they came to present a microwave they pledged to support TAMAR-SARC,upgrade. That she said, was in line with their  project of helping  raped  victims. She assured that her organisation, though new, will continue to support the SARC centre,Enugu..

Throwing more light on their activities , the Legal Practitioner/ Philanthropist said, “we are  very interested in assisting  indigent women and widows. We empower them to acquire skills  and support those trading in their trade. In the case of children,  we teach them on good morals and effects of drug abuse on their mental health so as to desist from doing  them., for them to be good citizens of tbe country and future  leaders. We also help children from poor homes in their education,” she said.

Earlier in her opening remarks, the Enugu state Coordinator of SJN,  Margaret Obiegue said,” the donation by WACCA was the outcome of the public private partnership program held in January,2024 in Enugu and WACCA made a pledge to support TAMAR- SARC with a microwave, which they redeemed.”

She  encouraged other bodies that made pledges to redeem their pledges. Obiegue appealed for more support for TAMAR-SARC, saying, ‘one can sponsor any sensitization programme or even give out airtime for awareness on TAMAR-SARC.

 “We also encourage other stakeholders,,  association and organisations to support in the upgrade of TAMAR-SARC ,she said.

In a brief remarks, the Center manager ,TAMAR- SARC,Enugu,  Evelyn Onah, thanked WACCA for the support given to the Centre. She  prayed God to bless the organisation in it’s service to humanity.
