Governor of Enugu state, Dr Peter Mbah has urged the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence corps, NSCDC, Enugu state command to rid the state of public utility vandals and other criminal elements.
He gave the charge on Tuesday when he received the new State Commandant of the NSCDC, Commandant Cyprian Otoibhi and other senior officers of the command who paid hhimvisit at the Government house, Enugu.
The Governor while reiterating that his administration has zero tolerance for vandalism and insecurity, assured the NSCDC and other security agencies in the state of maximum cooperation.
He commended the security agency for their efforts in protecting lives and property of the citizens, adding that no business thrives in an insecure environment as the government plans to grow the economy exponentially through public-private partnership
He lamented the destruction of water facilities and other public utility assets at Akwata and other parts of the state, and urged men of the NSCDC to go against the vandals, arrest and prosecute them according to the law.
The Governor assured the NSCDC of his administration’s resolve to procure utility vehicles and other logistics for the command to enhance security surveillance, and promised to strengthen the collaboration with various security agencies in the state to fight crime and criminality.
Earlier, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Commandant Cyprian Otoibhi commended the governor for his purposeful and all inclusive governance, assuring that the officers and men of the command will continue to leverage on the his determination to make Enugu the safest state in Nigeria.
The NSCDC boss thanked the Governor for the state Government’s collaboration with the security agency. He said the command would continue to work in synergy with other security agencies to protect
