Police Operatives serving in the Central Police Station (CPS) Enugu State Command , have arrestedTwo male suspects, Monday Igwe aged 25, and Obinna Owoh aged 27, both of Ebonyi State.
Statementt made availabile to newsmen by the Police Public Relations Officer ,Enugu Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe on Sunday in Enugu said the suspects were arrested on January 24, 2024, at about 9 p.m.
According to him, one locally fabricated cut-to-size gun loaded with a live cartridge was recovered from them. He said the operational success followed the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Kanayo Uzuegbu, that operational and investigative activities be strengthened in and around Holy Ghost and the Railway axis of Enugu metropolis.
“The suspects shall be arraigned in court and prosecuted once investigations are concluded.
“The Commissioner reiterates that the ongoing strengthened policing activities shall be sustained until the area is totally rid of all acts of crime and criminality. He, therefore, enjoins the citizens to continue to support the Police as they frontally combat and flush unrepentant criminals and their activities out of Enugu State,* Ndukwe said.
