ECCIMA holds 50Th AGM as Gov. Mbah urges business Community to embrace innovation, technological changes

Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA), on Thursday held it’s 50Th Annual General Meeting ,with a call on the business community to embrace  innovation and technological changes inorder to achieve sustainable growth.

Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah  made the call during the AGM held Thursday,  in Enugu.

The Governor, who was presented  by the  Commissioner for Agriculture and Agro Industrialization, Patrick Ubru, said businesses and industries operate in a rapidly evolving global economy where technological advancements and sustainability play a pivotal roles.

He said ,”it is imperative that they adapt and embrace innovation and foster a culture of creativity within the industries and businesses.”

That , he said, was essential to foster strong collaborations between the public and private sectors to achieve sustainable growth.

“We must work hand in hand, leveraging investments, support entrepreneurship and promotes the growth of our local businesses.

“By doing so, we can position Enugu State as a leading economic powerhouse, attracting both domestic and international investors,” he said.hat AGM offers an opportunity to reflect on challenges and opportunities that lied ahead, adding that the gathering showed their unwavering commitment towards promoting economic growth, foster innovation and creating a conductive business environment in Enugu State.

Governor Mbah added that the event provide a unique platform for key stakeholders, industry experts and passionate individuals to converge, exchange ideas and explore ideas.

Earlier in a welcome address, the outgoing president of ECCIMA  Jasper Nduagwuike mni thanked God for the opportunity given to him to serve the chamber and humanity.

The president advocated on way forward onbthev issues like taxes and business environment policies that affect organised private in the state.

He stated that the 50th AGM was his second and the last of stewardship as the president of the chamber.

“We shall be electing a new president and executive members during the business section of this AGM.

“In my acceptance speech when I was elected as the president of this chamber, I am committed to relevance, visibility and excellence and by grace of God, our commitment have been achieved.

“Council under our leadership has strengthened membership commitment through the provision of value and today we take a step further in launching of new membership certificate,” he said.

Highlight was the inauguration of the newly built ECCIMA Canteen.
