Gov Mbah signs 2024 budget into law 

Enugu State  Governor, Dr Peter Mbah has signed the 2024 appropriation bill into law, assuring it’s full implementation ,adding that the campaign promises will be fulfilled without compromise.

He gave the assurance , Wednesday, December, 27, in his speech,  after he had signet he budget ,tagged “Budget of Disruptive Economic Growth” at the Government, Enugu.

Governor  Mbah had on December 5, 2023 presented the 2024 Multi-Year Budget of over 500 Billion Naira with 80 percent for capital expenditure and 20 percent on recurrent expenditure before Enugu State House of Assembly.

The Enugu State House of Assembly approved and passed the budget on December 21, 2023 in a bid to expedite actions for onward implementations.

Dr Mbah commended the legislators for the speedy passage of the bill and urged Enugu residents to hold the government to accountable in the case of any mismanagement of the public funds.

Governor  Mbah said that the state will be spending approximately 400 Billion Naira on capital expenditure which according to him is far above the previous expenditure.

He reminded Enugu people of imminent demolition of structures along the roads as plans are underway for the expansion, rehabilitation and construction of roads across the state, the governor called on the people to bear with the government as all is geared towards the overall interest of the people.

He tasked the commissioners to sit up and ensure they meet targets in line with KPI on revenue generation.

Present at event are the  Deputy Governor, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai,  the Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Uche Ugwu; the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, Deputy Speaker of the state’s assembly, Rt. Hon. Ezenta Ezeani and other members of the assembly; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barr. Victor Udeh, State Head of Service, Kenneth Ugwu; members of the state’s Executive Council among others.
