Enugu Govt holds Children’s Xmas fun fair as Mrs Mbah prays for safety, joyous celebration

Wife of Enugu state Governor, Mrs Nkechinyere Mbah, Wednesday, hosted  over 600 Children to a Christmas  funfare , the first of it’s kind in the state

Addressing the children in an event organised by her office in collaboration with the Ministry of Children,Gender Affairs and Social Development, held at Kobb event centre,Enugu, Mrs Mbah who was accompanied by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Adaeze Ossai,  and the Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs and Social Development,Mrs Ngozi Enih, prayed for safety of all children and their parents during the Christmas celebration. She also prayed for journey mercies for those travelling to various places for the Christmas.

The Governor’s wife expressed gladness that the Children  were excited,  assuring  them that the Christmas party will be a continous event in their Adminstration.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Commissioner for Children,Gender Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Ngozi Enih commended the wife of the State  Governor , Mrs Nkechinyere Mbah for her support to the ministry of Children, Gender Affairs.and Social Development.

She said such occasion had never happened in Enugu state, adding that it was indeed, “business unsual “,as the Governor will always say that they have come to do things unusual.

The  Commissioner noted that the occasion afforded the children opportunity to showcase their talents.”It brought out the best in them, the talent in them,” Mrs Enih said.

She commended the Governor’s wife for her support to the ministry, saying, “I used to  call you a rapid responder because when it had to do with women and children and I called you, you  answered me”, Enih said .

The Christmas funfare featured dancing by the Governor’s wife and her entourage, dancing competition, beauty pageant, games, laughing competition, food, drinks, pop corn  eating competition among others. Christmas gifts were distributed to the children.

Children who spoke to newsmen said they they enjoyed themselves . They prayed for Governor Peter Mbah, his wife,Mrs Nkechinyere, the Deputy Governor,Ifeanyi Ossai, his wife Mrs Adaeze Ossai, Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Ngozi and all who saw to the successful hosting of the Christmas funfare.
