Enugu State Government Tuesday, directed all businesses that were sealed in Enugu on Monday, July 24 ,for not complying with the state government’s directives to end the illegal Mondays sit-at-home to remain sealed for one week.
The state government also gave conditions for re-opening of sealed budinesses.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Chidiebere Onyia and made available to newsmen on Tuesday
He added that the Business owners will at the end of the one week, provide their current tax clearance certificates and all other relevant revenue documents to enable the state to review and consider their formal letters for re-opening .
The statement read in part: “All sealed businesses shall remain sealed for one week, at the end of which they shall provide their current tax clearance certificates and all other relevant revenue documents to enable the state government to review and consider their formal letters for re-opening.
“Again, all considerations start from Friday, July 28, 2023 from 2.00 pm at the Enugu State Capital Development Authority (ECTDA) headquarters”, Onyia said.
According to him,”in previous announcements to the good people and residents of Enugu State, government had directed business and shop owners to open for normal businesses on Monday and every work day, or have the defaulting business premises and shops sealed.
