Operatives of Enugu State Police Command serving in New Haven Division, on Friday, June 16, at about 10.46am, recovered one (1) double-barreled locally fabricated gun with one (1) live and expended cartridges each from escaping armed robbery suspects, at New Artisan Bridge, off Enugu/Port-Harcourt Expressway.
According to the statement made available by the Police Public relations officer, DSP Dan Ndukwe, on Sunday in Enugu, “the hoodlums abandoned the firearm with the ammunition on sighting the Operatives, who immediately went on their trail, following the receipt of credible information that the miscreants were sighted in the location perfecting their criminal plans”.
Ndukwe disclosed that discreet investigative actions to fish out the fleeing criminal elements were underway. “Further development shall be communicated”, he said.
