Central Bank of Nigeria,CBN on Monday, March 13th,2023, said it did not direct Commercial banks to start issuing old N500 and N1000 as being speculated by some media( not Newslineglobal).
In a statement signed by the Deputy Governor, Corporate Services, Edward Adamu and Director, Corporate Communications, Osita Nwanisobi and made available to newsmen, the Apex bank said, “CBN sticks to presidential directive to reissue only N200 old note”. The statement read in full:
