Presidential election: Obi leads in Enugu

 Presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP,  Peter Obi has won the presidential  election held on Saturday , February 25  in some local government areas so far declared .

In Enugu East local government area, Collation Officer, Gloria Ogbuewu, announced on Sunday, that Peter Obi of Labour Party polled 11,746 votes,, APC 94 votes, APGA 24, PDP 1,430. She said that  total number of registered voters was 82,959,Accredited voters 13,890,  total vote cast, 13,858, valid votes 13,490 and rejected votes 368 .

In Enugu South local government area, Peter Obi ( LP)won  with  38,511 votes, APC 194, APGA 209,  PDP 336.

The Collation Officer Dr Patricia Ukamaka Agu, said that registered voters were 178,654, Accredited voters, 40,347, valid votes 39,566, rejected votes 779, total votes cast ,40,345.

in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, Obi  was declared winner at the collation centre in the Local Government, polling a total of 14,143 votes. Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, came second with 4,010 votes, while Bola Tinubu of the APC  had  970 votes.

Results of other local government areas were being expected as at the time of filing this report.
