2023: NUJ urges electorates to vote their preferred candidates, INEC to conduct free, fair, credible elections

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF NUJ CONGRESS ON THURSDAY FEBRUARY 23RD 2023 AT GOVERNOR IFEANYI UGWUANYI PRESS CENTER ENUGU.

NUJ Enugu State Council led by Comrade Sam Udekwe after extensive deliberation on issues concerning the Union also came up with the following resolutions on the state of the nation.

The 6-point communique made available by the Assistant Secretary of Council,Comrade Ifeoma Amuta, on Thursday read:

The congress urges all electorates to go out enmass to vote for their preferred candidates.

The Congress urges the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to ensure free, fair and credible election come February 25th and March 11th 2023.

NUJ condemns the spate of incessant killings in the country especially in the south east zone.

The Congress calls on Security Agencies to ensure effective protection of lives and properties of citizens before, during and after the forth coming general elections.

The Council supports the federal government’s cashless policy, sequel to the new naira swap but called on Central Bank of Nigeria to make enough cash available at all ATM machines and banks to alleviate the Plights of the people.

It equally encourages its members to ensure they verify the authenticity of every report before Airing or publishing.
