Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has deployed 21, 640 officers and men to monitor the forth coming general elections across the 36 states and FCT.
Comptroller -General of NIS, Isah Jere, disclosed this in a statement made available on Monday in Abuja by the Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO),Tony Akuneme.
He said the service approved the deployment of the personnel to be part of the election monitoring security apparatus of the Federal Government.
Jere charged all the state Comptrollers to ensure strict monitoring of the elections in their respective states especially as it concerned the non-participation of foreigners in the exercise.
