Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have declared a nationwide strike over the assault on the NLC president, Joe Ajaero by some policemen in Imo State on November 1, 2023.

In a statement signed by the Secretary-General of NLC, Emmanuel Ugboaja and the Secretary-General of TUC, Nuhu Toro, and made available to newsmen on Monday, November 13, 2023, the labour leadership ,directed all Nigerian workers to “withdraw their services effective 12 midnight ..13Th November,2023.”
