Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, has approved the commencement of the state government ‘s subsidized food welfare scheme for workers, effective from October 8, 2025.
Head of Service, Dr. Godwin Anigbo, disclosed this in a statement dated 27 Th September,2025 in Enugu.
According to the statement, the initiative approved by Governor Mbah will allow state workers to access food and household items through a subsidized supply system and pay later from their monthly salaries, with oversight of distribution and payment logistics to be administered by the Enugu State Marketing Company.
“All Directors and Heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) have been requested to submit, using the instituted template in their circular, the names of interested workers, including their names, grade levels, verification numbers, MDAs, and food items of interest, to the General Manager/CEO of the Enugu State Marketing Company by October 5, 2025, and send copies to the Office of the Head of Service, while ensuring that information about the exercise is widely communicated to all staff within their MDAs’,the statement read
