People of Enugu west senatorial zone Saturday ,came out enmasse to welcome the wife of the state Governor, Mrs Nkechinyere Mbah, who concluded her familiarization visit to the three senatorial zones in the state at Awgu, Enugu west zone, with a promise to supporting women empowerment.

Speaking at the event, Mrs Mbah said the familiarisation visit presents a vital opportunity to connect with the people and understand their concerns.
” My role is that of service, championing courses that affect our families, women, children and communities. We must work together to eliminate social- -economic and cultural barriers that prevent our women from succeeding.
“I am dedicated to supporting skills acquisition, maternal health and elimination of gender based violence and creating access to education. No woman should be left behind.”she said.
Mrs Mbah noted the roles of women in building a strong society, pledging support for initiatives that will empower women and help them to succeed.
The governor ‘s wife said she came to listen to their concerns and to help them solve their problems.
She expressed optimism that the concerns of the people will shape the programs and policies they pursue..
Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders in Enugu West, the former Deputy Governor of Enugu state, Hon Mrs Cecilia Ezeilo, thanked Mrs Mbah for the peace and support she has given to the Governor,, Dr Peter Mbah , which made him to be performing well
She noted that his developmental strides were seen in all the 260 political wards in the state and that the people of the zone will vote for him in 2027. Ezeilo urged the governor to bring more development to Enugu west zone .
Goodwill messages were delivered by the state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP), Dr. Martin Chukwuwike, , the Speaker, Enugu state House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Uche Ugwu,, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Victor Udeh, the Commissioner for Children, Gender and Social Development,Mrs Ngozi Enih, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mrs Ugochi Mmadueke, among others.
Speaking with Newsmen , Chairmen of the five local government areas in Enugu west zone, Hon. Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku (Aninri) Dr. Vita Ndu( Ezeagu-) Hon .Greg Anyaegbudike (Oji- River) Hon Hyginus Agu( Udi) and Hon. Uchenna Okolo of Awgu local government area, commended Governor Mbah giant developmental strides in the state ,which included construction of 260 Smart schools, 260 Primary Health centres, 260 farm estates across the 260 political wards in the state, in the state, construction of International Conference centre amd construction of five star hotel among others.
They assured continuous support for the governor , saying his victory for a second tenure in 2027 “is assured ‘
