Enugu Gov’s wife reiterates commitment to developmental iniatives

Wife of Enugu State Governor, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, has reiterated her commitment to initiating programs that will bring about development in the state, especially, those that will empower women, improve healthcare delivery, education, and youth development across the state.

She gave the assurance on Sunday during an official visit to Amagunze, in Enugu East Senatorial zone.

Mrs. Mbah described the visit as a demonstration of her resolve to engage with communities at the grassroots level, understand their challenges and aspirations firsthand, and foster collaboration towards the inclusive development of the state.

“This visit reflects my deep commitment to listening to our people and working together to achieve holistic development in Enugu State,” Mrs. Mbah said.

In her remarks, the Enugu State Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development, Mrs. Ngozi Enih, commended the First Lady for her proactive engagement with rural communities.

She said Mrs. Mbah’s efforts would go a long way in addressing the socio-economic challenges faced by residents of the district and providing them with renewed hope.

Also speaking, the member representing Nkanu East and Nkanu West Federal Constituency, Hon. Nnoli Nnaji, lauded the state government for its developmental strides. He stressed that women and youths across the 28 wards of the senatorial district were eager to benefit from skills acquisition programmes and support for small-scale enterprises.

“There is a strong desire among our women and young people to develop skills and grow small businesses. Government support in this area is critical,” Hon. Nnaji stated.

In an interview, the Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area and Enugu state Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Enugu State chapter, . Sydney Edeh, described the visit as a resounding success.

“The visit has reinforced the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and has further strengthened community resolve to support government programmes,” he said.
