Polls: International coalition organises town-hall for Governorship candidates in Enugu
A coalition of non-governmental organizations comprising of Worship Media TV Canada and the Leadership and Entreprenureship Advocacy (LEAD) Network Africa – has concluded an arrangement for town-hall for governorship candidates in Enugu State.
Addressing journalists about the virtual town-hall on Saturday, the Convener, Dr Chidi Nwanyanwu, said that the town-hall was designed to ensure that the people get the chance to interrogate the competence of the leading governorship candidates.
Nwanyanwu said that the town hall would be held on Monday, March 13, and would commence at 4p.m. local time.
He said: “The town-hall will expose the competences of the governorship candidates with a view to ensure that the right man is recruited for the top job in the state.
“It would showcase a true leader, a chief servant and an administrator that will work for the betterment of Enugu State people.
“The four leading governorship candidates in Enugu State, APC Governorship Candidate, Uche Nnaji; APGA Governorship Candidate, Frank Nweke; Labour Party Governorship Candidate, Chijioke Edeoga and Peter Mbah of the PDP have all been duly informed about the virtual town-hall.”
Nwanyanwu said that the choice of Monday, March 13, was strategically chosen and “it is hoped that all candidates will ensure they accommodate this crucial interview in their schedule”
Speaking, the Executive Director of LEAD Network Africa, Chukwuma Okenwa, hinted that issues around economy, security, infrastructure, job creation, education and governance shall be the focal points of the interaction at the town-hall.
Okenwa, who is also a co-convener, commended the media partners for the event.
He said that the event would be streamed live from 4p.m. on all the media partner platforms as well.
