It’s all jubilation galore as Enugu Metropolitan Lions Club won Excellence Award at the just concluded 2025 convention held at Uyo, Akwa-Ibom state known as Ibom 2025 convention.
The award bestowed on Enugu Metropolitan Lions club was based on the Club’s great service to the community of their abode and increase in membership strength.
It was also observed that Enugu Lions club executed all their set out programmes with utmost enthusiasm and admiration of the public and Lion members through out the district.
It would be recalled that Lions and Leos from various regions trooped to the convention which featured speeches from inspiring guests, plenary session, cabinet meeting, training session, parade, hospitality night or Happy hour and a friendly football match between female Lions and Leos.
Presenting the award,the District Governor of District 404A2 Nigeria,Lions Clubs International,Lion Sir Maurice Ibok,urged Lions Clubs to live up to expectations particularly, in the 8 services to their communities stressing that with commitment and dedication to service of mankind a lot of people will get to know about the club very well.
Lion Ibok also called on members to exhibit the spirit of pragmatism,strive for service, innovation and excellence in their communities.
In his response, while appreciating the award, the President of Enugu Metro Lions Club,Lion Emma Agbo ,expressed gratitude to God for the award noting that the good works embarked by the Club in the communities are well recognized.
Lion Agbo pointed out that the programmes and projects touched lives of people in Enugu area and vowed to continue in their service to humanity.
Speaking also in an interview, the immediate Past President of Enugu Lions club,Lion Ken Nnamani commended the Leap Alliance for their great partnership with the club and also extolled the virtues of members of the club for their cooperation and unity of purpose they always exhibit.
He also expressed joy for the award and commended the organisers of the Ibom 2025 Convention.
