Gov Mbah, Oyinlola sue for peace, unity amongst PDP members in  South East

and the chairman, National Reconciliation Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ,Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola have  appealed to aggrieved members of the party in the South East to sheath their swords, be united and work for the success pf the Party.

They made the appeal on Thursday when the members of the National Reconciliation Committee led by the Chairman , Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola 

 paid a courtesy visit to Governor Mbah at Government  House, Enugu.

The Reconciliation Committee members were in Enugu to meet with members , broker peace as part of its move to find a lasting solution to the crisis that had befallen the party which had made  made the party  lost in the last elections.

Speaking, Governor Mbah said the South East is the stronghold of the PDP and Enugu state  carries the banner of PDP with so much pride in Nigeria. He emphasized  the need for members to be united and form a formidable force, stressing that   no battle is won with a divided house, hence the need to reconcile the aggrieved members.

According to Governor Mbah,  those who have left the party did not leave  willingly  but as a result of the internal crisis..

He noted that a lot of their members were outside, waiting  to be brought back to the party. Governor Mbah  expressed the confidence that at the end  of the day , the outcome will be positive anf they will be  together.

Earlier, the PDP National Reconciliation Committee Chairman and former Governor of Osun State, , Prince Olagunsoye Oyinilola said  the crisis in the PDP was one of the reasons it lost the 2023 presidential election and other elections in the country.

He appealed to the aggrieved members of the party in the South East to sheathe their sword , be united and embrace the idea behind the peace and reconciliation move for the good of the Party.

He noted that Nigerians are tired of the sufferings orchestrated by the ruling party in the country, hence yearning for the return of the PDP.

In an interview , Enugu state PDP chairman , Dr Martin Chukwunwike said the committee’s reconciliation move would rejig the party’s ongoing efforts in the state to bring back aggrieved  members.

He commended the Governor of Enugu state ,Dr. Peter Mbah for the good works he is doing in the state. He expressed the confidence that with the  leadership style of  the Governor the PDP would soon unprecedented return of the members who decamped to other parties.

Speaking on the recent meeting with the Governorship candidate of the Labour party, Chijioke Edeoga, the chairman said the meeting was necessary as the part wanter all members that decamped to return to the party, knowing that ‘their blood  is PDP though they wearing other party’s cloth.
