Minister lauds Gov Mbah’s  developmental strides,  $100m WANDE NEXUS- Austrian  agreement

Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has commended  Enugu state Governor,  Dr Peter Mbah for his developmental strides in the state, which cut across various sectors , especially his administration’s efforts in provision of portable water  and the $100m WANDE NEXUS- Austrian  agreement for the project.

The minister who gave the commendation on Wednesday in Enugu during  a working visit to the State described the $100 million  Enugu state Government agreement with the Austrian Investors under the  WANDE NEXUS to implement the Sustainable Last Mile Connectivity and Advanced Metering Infrastructure Project in Enugu as timely,saying  that the state would soon be transformed into a world-class city.

 He said Governor Mbah’s impressive achievements so far attracted   President Bola Tinubu’ s recent visit  to the state to commission some of the projects completed by the Governor. 

Senator Bagudu who was accompanied by the Ambassador of Austria to Nigeria, Amb. Thomas Schlesinger and other top officials, could not hide his joy about what he saw at the areas they visited. He said they  visited Enugu East, Enugu North, Enugu South, Udi, and Nkanu West Local Government Areas and were impressed with the laudable projects they saw, saying the projects  were in line with President Tinubu’s vision.

He commended  the Governor for the partnership between Enugu state and the federal government  in executing the NG-CARES programme in the state. 

He pledged continuous  support and partnership with Enugu state government 

Responding , Governor Mbah appreciated the federal government and the ministry of Budget and Economic Planning for their support and partnership. He described the visit by the minister as a testament to his administration’s resolve to make Enugu a premier destination for tourism and living.

He said his administration was constructing 260 Smart Green schools and 260 Primary Health Care Centers in 260 political wards in the state  He added that the state Government was also constructing farm settlements across the political wards to boost the economy of the state, create jobs  and end poverty in the state 

The Governor called for  Public  Private Partnership as well as  collaboration with the federal ministry of budget and economic planning in various areas of basic infrastructure, socio-economic development and project implementation.

He explained that in the 

partnership with the Austrian investors, Enugu state will be in charge of production while the investors  will be  in charge of distribution.
