ENSIEC presents certificates of return to 17 chairmen-elect

Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) Tuesday , September 24, presented certificates of return to 17 chairmen-elect in the just-concluded 2024 Enugu State Local iGovernment elections held on Sept. 21, 2024.

Presenting the certificates at the ENSIEC headquarters in Enugu, the Chairman of ENSIEC, Prof. Christian Ngwu, congratulated the chairmen-elect.

He said the issuance of the certificate of return was a necessary statutory document needed to be presented to the winners.

“I congratulate you all for the success recorded and wish you well in your tenure as helmsmen in your various council areas,” he said.

Responding on behalf of other chairmen, the chairman- elect of Nkanu-East Local Government Area, and former ALGON chairman, Sydney Edeh thanked all who voted for them .He also thanked Governor Peter Mbah, Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and other members for their support.

Speaking with newsmen in interviews, the Chairmen-elect of Udenu Local Government Area, Hon. Aka Eze Aka, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, Obiora Ubuagu, Chijioke Ezugwu, Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, Uchenna Okolo, Awgu Local Government Area, Beloved Dan Anike ,Enugu East Local Government Area and Jude Asogwa ,Nsukka Local Government Area, appreciated Governor Peter Mbah, the PDP and their supporters for coming out en masse to vote for them.

They said they will key into the developmental strides of Governor Mbah.

They said they would tackle security challenges in their various areas, improve agricultural production, educational and health advancement alleviate poverty and , empower their people among others.

Similarly, the chairman -elect of Enugu South Local Government Area, Caleb Ani said they will tackle insecurity being the Chief security officers of their various Local Government areas.

” We are going to serve as the chief security officers of our Local Government s and in the area of security, we are going to complement the existing security structure within our local government to put to peace within our Local Government”.

In the area of infrastructure , Ani said they will complement the efforts of the state Governor , Dr. Peter Mbah to make sure there will be an aggressive development within the Local Government Areas.

He thanked Governor Mbah for his developmental strides in the state,noting that the Governor’s good works made their campaign and victory easy.
