Enugu L.G elections:PDP’s Ugo Ferdinand leads in Igboeze South Local Government

Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Igboeze South Local Government Area, Ferdinand Ugo, is currently leading in the ongoing local government elections.

Declaring the results , the returning officer , Dr. Odoh Longinus, said the election was free, fair, and credible. He announced that Ugo Ferdinand scored a highest vote totally 52,810 votes, leading his closest rival, Hon. Ogbonna Joshua of the Labour Party, who got 4,247 votes.

Dr. Longinus said the winner will be officially declared by the chairman of the commission, Prof. Chris Chimdubem Ngwu. He also expressed gratitude to the security agencies for their diligent efforts in maintaining peace during the election and acknowledged the voters for their participation in the democratic process, which reflects the community’s commitment to good governance.

Reacting to the outcome of the election, the former member of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Erochukwu Ugwueze, described the elections as a significant step towards reinforcing democracy in Igboeze South Local Government Area.

He praised the electoral process and urged all parties to respect the will of the people.
