An Enugu State-based political and leadership development organisation, Ebullient Youth for Good Governance (EYGG), has lauded the just concluded Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Enugu state congress, describing it as seamless and rancour-free congress.
The Founder of the group, Victor Uchedienyi, gave the commendation in a statement made available to Newsmen on Wednesday in Enugu.
Uchedienyi said the peaceful conduct of the congress was a clear evidence that the party Faithfuls and gladiators regarded the unity of the party as paramount and above personal interests.
He said those who expected the competitive nature of the congress to breed acrimony and rancor among the various interest groups, were disappointed.
“It also resonates the leadership prowess of the Executive Governor of Enugu state, His Excellency, Peter Mbah, who is the leader of the party in the State.”
The founder added that the PDP members had high expectations that the new executive members of the party would leverage on the good governance initiatives and successes of the state leader of the party to break new grounds for good governance in the state.
According to him, the Party is a factory where tested and trusted products leaders emanate to serve the populace and as such, having seasoned hands leading the party makes the job easier with higher reputation for the party.
He commended Governor Mbah for providing the Party executives with the enabling environment to discharge their duties.
“We appreciate the transformational leadership style of Mbah, which we believe provided the leadership of the party with the enabling ground for the emergency of credible leaders into various positions of party hierarchy.
“The non-voilence and transparent congresses clearly send signals of internal democracy, peace, love and unity reigning in the party under the governor,” he said.
Uchedienyi, however, charged the new leadership of the Party to run an all-inclusive administration, adding that anything short of that would be counterproductive.

He also urged the new leadership of the party to take actions that would guarantee the growth of the party and emergence of only credible and trustworthy individuals into power under the party’s platform in the state.
“We pray God to give them the wisdom to take the party to greater heights and ensure that the right individuals with passion for good governance are brought into power to serve the people,” he said.
Recall that the PDP in Enugu State on Aug. 31, conducted its state congress during which Dr Martin Chukwunweike led executive were elected to serve Enugu State PDP in next four years.
