An umbrella body uniting the people of Akwa Ibom state , South -South Nigeria, known as “Ibom General Assembly ( IGA) “has called on the youth from the area to embrace the “Ibom Dakada ” project aimed at encouraging youth to be hardworking , self reliant and useful to themselves and the society.
Chairman of Ibom General Assembly, Enugu branch, Ndifrek Bassey Udo Udofia Uttuk , made the call , Wednesday, in a chat with newsmen on the upcoming programme of the association in Enugu.

He also urged the youth to be patriotic, shun violence and never allowed themselves to be used for political thuggery..
Uttuk said they came to welcome their Governor, Udo Eno, who was in Enugu for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Govs meeting ,held Wednesday, in Enugu. He thanked the Governor for good works he was doing in the state, pledging support for the Governor.

Also speaking , Obong Awan Antonia Akpan, treasurer of Akwa Ibom Unity for Development Association,Akwuda, who was among the delegation, spoke on behalf of their chairman, Asoquo Gregory, said the association , formed in 2020(4years ago) brought sons and daughters of Akwa Ibom in Enugu together. She said they were united and render help to themselves. Akwuda, is a Union of sons and daughters of Akwa Ibom living in Enugu.
” We are in unity here. We love ourselves. We also render help to ourselves , especially, our people who have no meaningful source of living”, she said .
On upcoming Ibom General Assembly event, Uttuk said it will showcase the culture of the Akwa Ibom people and talks on youth empowerment will be presented. He said other details for the event would be disclosed soon.
