Ekweremadu congratulates Rangers Int’l FC,attributes success to Gov Mbah’s support

Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports , Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu Jnr has congratulated Rangers International Football Club, for emerging champions of 2023/2024 Nigeria Professional Football League,( NPFL),attributing the success to Governor Peter Mbah’s passion ,commitment to the improvement of sports in the State.

In a statement, released by the Director of Information Ministry of Youth and Sports, Dan Onwuegbuna, Sunday, Ekweremadu, thanked the Governor for his painstaking passion towards the success of the Club, through the completion of the Astro- turf at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, which culminated in Rangers’ return to the Stadium for their home matches , provision of funds and the appointment of the right calibre management team for Rangers, coupled with creating a favourable condition for the Club to perform well .

He attributed Rangers success to putting round pegs to round holes, by His Excellency ,the Governor, noting the harmonious synergy that is prevalent between his Ministry and the Management of Rangers led by the General Manager Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, adding, that the General Manager, has shown managerial sagacity and competence, dedication passion and the resultant rebranding of the Club, as one of the best Clubs in Nigeria

The Commissioner commended the Management, Technical Crew led by Technical Adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu and the players for their enduring steadfastness, love and devotion to duty, during the 38 rigorous matches.

He disclosed that the State government will receive and honour the victorious Rangers on Monday 24 June 2024 , at Okpara Square as, they return from Jos, Plateau State, adding, that, Enugu State government will continue it’s unwavering commitment towards the development of sports infrastructure in the State to enable youths make a career in sports.

According to him, the State government perceive sports as business that can create wealth and job opportunities, through inclusiveness regardless of gender and disability.
