Monanu to be installed Chairman, CCN S’East

“True Leadership in the vineyard of God is a call to serve, not to be served.”

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Christian family in the South East will gather in Enugu to celebrate a man whose life has been filled by service and humility. Territorial Envoy Dr. Levi Monanu, will be installed as the Chairman of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), South East Zone, in a ceremony that promises to be both solemn and joyous.

The installation, to be officiated by the National President of the Council, His Grace, Most Rev. David O.C. Onuoha, will take place at the Cathedral Church of The Good Shepherd, Independence Layout, Enugu, at 11am.

For Dr. Monanu, this is not just another milestone. Friends and colleagues describe him as an exceptional leader who carries people’s burdens with patience, a man whose heart beats for love, unity and service. His new role, they say, is both a recognition of his journey and a clarion call to deeper responsibility.

The event, titled “Grand Installation of the Chairman, Territorial Envoy Dr. Levi Monanu and His Executive,” will be hosted by Rt. Rev. Prof. Sam Ike, the Anglican Bishop of Enugu Diocese, and chaired by Chief Bart Nwibe (Ugo Igbo-Ukwu), MD Segofs Energy Group.

It will draw together church leaders, government officials, and the faithful across denominations. Among the special guests are the Executive Governors of the South Eastern states. The spiritual fathers of the day include a rich blend of leaders from across the Christian family:

Commissioner Friday Sam Ayanam, Territorial Commander, The Salvation Army Nigeria Territory.

His Grace, Most Rev. Engr. Sosthenes Eze, Archbishop, Enugu Ecclesiastical Province (Anglican Communion).

His Grace, Most Rev. Barr. Christopher N. Ede, Archbishop, Archdiocese of Enugu (Methodist Church of Nigeria).

His Grace, Most Rev. Prof. Ezichi A. Ituma, Archbishop and Moderator, Enugu Synod (The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria)

Behind the scenes, the planning has been diligently overseen by Rev. Dr. Stephen Nlemchukwu, Secretary of CCN South East Zone, alongside Most Rev. Ibeawuchi Agwu and Very Rev. Barr. Humphrey Ofoegbu, who lead the planning committee.

As the date approaches, the atmosphere is already charged with Enthusiasm. For many, this will not just be an installation but a celebration of True Leadership, faith, unity, and a renewed vision for the Christian Council of Nigeria in the South East.
