Enugu state will play host to members of the Nigerian Bar Association ( NBA) coming to Enugu city ahead of this year’s Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual Conference, starting from Thursday, 21 August to Monday, 25 August 2025, with major hotels in the town fully booked and one-way tickets rising from an average of ₦120,000 to as high as N400,000.

Several flights were fully booked on peak travel days. On the Abuja–Enugu route, Ibom Air is fully booked from Thursday through Monday, while limited earlier seats are selling around N 171,000—almost double typical prices.The Lagos–Enugu corridor mirrors the squeeze. As of Tuesday, no seats were available from Thursday through Sunday. Travellers booking today can only secure Wednesday (₦190,800) and Thursday (₦171,800) departures, or wait until Monday when fares ease to ₦171,800.
Travel agents attribute the surge to the influx of lawyers, corporate partners, and dignitaries heading for the Enugu’s largest conference .
“Airlines are responding to market forces. With demand outstripping supply, fares will stay elevated until after the event,” one ticketing operator said.
The high price has resulted to complaints from travellers, with some considering road options. Indeed, the economy of the state will surely increase during these few days of the conference as some traders had secured spaces around the International Conference Centre axis to sell their goods during the period.
