Wife of Enugu state Governor, Mrs Nkechinyere Mbah , Saturday, under the Renewed Hope Initiatives of the Federal Government to empower farmers in the country, distributed agricultural facilities to women and young farmers over 400 drawn across the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State
The items distributed include wheel barrows , rice, yam , maize seedlings, fertiliser, pesticides, livestock feeds, cassava grinding machine piggery, chick and other farming equipment amongst others.

Distributing the items on behalf of the wife of the President, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, Mrs Mbah said the programme was another remarkable boost to the agricultural sector in Enugu State.
She said the gesture would uplift the female farmers, youth and the younger generations of potential farmers in Enugu.
According her, the programme is a collective effort between RHI and Enugu State that reflects the power of partnership in driving sustainable agricultural development.
She noted that agriculture remained the backbone of the economy, adding that by supporting farmers especially young people and women, the government were strengthening food security and creating opportunities for economic growth and self-reliance.
“We are here today because of the inspiring commitment of Her Excellency,
Senator Oluremi Tinubu. the wife of the President Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“This is her brainchild, the RHI that has carried out numerous laudable projects in our nation,touching countless lives and uplifting communities.
“This significant undertaking has made a lasting impact in every state and Enugu is no exception,.
“The knowledge and skills you have acquired will be applied practically in your fields, farms and community.
“This is your chance to grow, earn and feed your family even better. We sustain our commitment to investing in the best agricultural practices”, she said
She thanked Gov. Peter Mbah’s administration’s unwavering commitment to agricultural and rural development.
The Governor’s wife said the state government had numerous projects and magnanimously provided more financial support necessary to expand the programme and capture a wider net of farmers across our state… To the young farmers, she said their farms will be assessed and the best yiel will be rewarded
Beneficiaries who spoke with newsmen thanked Mrs Tinubu and Enugu state government for providing them with the agro inputs.
Mrs Ebuka Amarachi, from Nkanu west said the machine she got will help her in breaking palm kernel. She said she had longed to have the machine and now she has gotten it ,her palm kernel business will flourish.
Another person Mrs Aja from Enugu South got Cassava processing machine. She said it will help her greatly in her Cassava grinding business in her place.. She prayed God give Gove Mbah long life and protect him and his wife.
