Former Governor of Anambra state and presidential candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi had called on “Ndi Igbo” to promote Igbo language and culture , support the renaissance so that Igbo language will not go not go into extinction.
He gave the charge, Wednesday , during the unveiling of the maiden Igbo compendium, entitled, ” Igbo book of records” ,held in Enugu
Represented by his media aide, Valentine Obienyi, Obi , noted that Igbo language and culture were unique and should not be allowed to die. He 33eee the need of teaching children of Igbo origin the Igbo language and culture, so that they grow with them.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of Hall of Igbo Archivers Foundation Nze Sam Nwanze said the book, the first of its kind, both in context, concept and design, was put together by two senior and seasoned journalists of Igbo origin, Nze Sam Nwanze and Mike Ubani.
He explained that the book was meant to be a compendium where authentic and well researched issues on Igbo culture , tradition, events, and genuine Archivers could be found .
Nwanze disclosed that the book would be an annual publication and that the policy will be maintained .
The chairman added that they planned to build in Enugu, a hall of fame where they will store materials on Igbo affairs
“The building will house library, ,gallery, research center on Igbo affairs, culture, culture and tradition, , values, conference hall and ICT centre “, he said

Nwanze disclosed that they will start publishing an Online and monthly newspaper, ” Igbo Digest”. He also said that they will be organize South East best Governor of the year Award to encourage competition among the South East Governors.
Nwanze said a 7-man selection Committee headed by the immediate past Archbishop of Anglican Communion, Enugu Ecclesiastical province and Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev (Dr) Emmanuel Chukwuma will set out criteria for the selection of the winner. of the best Governor award.
