Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Enugu State Chapter, Saturday ,March 8, joined women across the globe in celebrating International Women’s Day.
In her message to women, Chairperson of NAWOJ Enugu, state chapter, Comrade Ngozi Ngene, called on women to recognize progress made and actively engage in overcoming the remaining barriers to gender equality, in line with this year’s theme, “Accelerate Action.

The message reads in parts:
“This special day celebrates women’s achievements, courage, and unwavering commitment to creating a more equal and just world.
“It serves as a reminder that women’s rights are human rights, and that equality is essential for a prosperous and peaceful world,” Ngene said.
She emphasized that women deserved to be valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
“We call on governments, corporate organizations, businesses, and individuals to join us in this effort to create a world where women and girls can thrive and reach their potential,” she said..
