Members of the Right Path Campaign team, a group of candidates and members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Enugu state Council in the team of the incumbent chairman and Chairmanship candidate ,Sam Udekwe, Thursday, visited members of the Corporate Online Chapel (COC) on campaign ahead of the Council’s election which will now hold on Saturday,March 8,2025.
Addressing the Onliners, the Chairmanship candidate and incumbent chairman of the NUJ, Enugu state council,Sam Udekwe, mentioned some of his achievements in the past three years. He said he restored peace in the council which was crisis ridden. He added that he attracted state Government ‘s support to the council ,which saw the renovation of the Secretariat by the out gone Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and financial assistance to the council.
Udekwe disclosed that he created the Corporate Online Chapel in the midst of strong opposition. “I created Corporate Online Chapel.My own was a big fight. When I looked at the Corporate Online Chapel I saw the chapel I created.
Thanking members of the chapel, Udekwe described Corporate Online Chapel members as people of integrity.” I thank the members of Corporate Online Chapel. They are known for integrity”. He promised to strengthen all the Chapels , build capacity, see to members’ welfare if re-elected.

Udekwe ,who explained why some people who campaigned for him in the election that brought him in three years ago were now in opposition said they went separate way because he refused to heed to their advice of sidelining other members.
The Chairmanship candidate mentioned other candidates in his group which included , Regis Anikwoji for Vice Chairman, Ifeoma Amuta for secretary, Chinyere Agbo for treasurer, Adaku Mmadueke Agbala for Financial Secretary,Uche Nnamele for Internal Auditor.
He solicited for votes for himself and his team on Saturday,March 8 , the day for the State Council’s election.

In his opening remarks, the Director -General of the Right Path Campaign team, Ignatius Okpara, described Sam Udekwe as a man of peace and integrity.
“Before now, NUJ, Enugu state council was the headquarters of crisis. If we were not in DSS, we will be at Police headquarters . If we were not in Police headquarters we will be in court.
” Three years ago , God sent us a man of peace, Sam Udekwe. He restored the peace we are enjoying today in NUJ. Today , because of Sam Udekwe ‘s disposition, Sam attracted the former Governor of Enugu state,Rt. Hon( Dr.) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to NUJ.
“For the first time in the history of NUJ,Enugu, this chairman after conducting press week gave every member expensive wrapper and N20,000, what no past administration had done. He gave members transport fare at every monthly meeting. Such had never happened in NUJ,Enugu state council, “Okpara said.

He said that those who formed opposition against Sam Udekwe were those who benefitted more from Sam administration.
“This guy is a product with NAFDAC number. A vote for Sam is a vote for welfare of members “, the DG said .
In a brief remark, member of the Right path campaign team, Ben Whyte ,said to the Corporate Online Chapel members, , “Udekwe has done well for making you a chapel.” I have seen his good works . He has done well. He called on all members of the chapel and NUJ to vote for Sam Udekwe and his team.
There were questions and answers session. The team members were received by the Secretary of the Corporate Online Chapel, Odomero Igbodo.
Meanwhile, the election has been shifted from Friday March 7 to Saturday,March 8, 2025. That was contained in a press release signed by the National Secretary of NUJ,Achike Chude and made available to members on Thursday,March 6,2025.
