He disclosed that in a post on X after meeting with the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, to discuss a coordinated approach to advancing the country’s space and AI sectors.

The development of the strategy will focus on defining Nigeria’s position in the space sector, including satellite technology, space exploration, and related areas.
He said to achieve this, the government will establish a committee comprising representatives from both ministries and other relevant agencies to draft a framework for Nigeria’s space ambitions.
The ministers also discussed the next steps for launching the National AI Trust, which received approval from the Federal Executive Council earlier in the week.
He noted that Nnaji would be part of the trust’s leadership, ensuring collaboration across ministries to drive AI innovation and governance in the country.
The AI Trust will bring together 10 AI experts and government officials, including the ministers of communications and digital economy, as well as science, innovation, and technology.
It will also help future-proof the country’s investment in AI across key sectors of the economy, recognising the transformative power of the technology in driving job creation and attracting foreign direct investment.
