.Just as FG expresses interest to partner Enugu on tourism
Minister of Arts, Culture,tourism and creative economy, ,Hon Hannati Musawa, and the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese,Most Rev(Dr) Callistus Onaga have commended Enugu state Governor, Dr Peter Mbah on his innovation and transformative leadership in the state.
They gave the commendation Saturday, at the commissioning of the Enugu state Christmas village, and light up of Naira triangle
The minister described the park as a beautiful village and expressed the hope that more and more will come to Enugu state , “with the very beautiful innovation Governor Mbah had.
She commended the Governor for his good works in the state , saying that Governor Mbah”s works were glaring and his name rings bell all over the country.
Musawa assured support to Enugu state and partnership of the Federal Government in Arts,Culture and Tourism Development in the state
In a brief sermon before blessing the Christmas village, Bishop Onaga said “Christ Jesus is the symbol of light. Christ is the light of the world , the light of the nation. He dispels all forms of darkness and that is why we are here.
He said the Christmas village was the first of its kind in Enugu since it’s inception.”T”hat’s the innovative and creative mind of our Governor ,” Bishop Onaga said
Speaking further , he said it’s a wonderful innovation that we are beginning to think of Christmas the way it should be talked about, and not just celebrating but meditating of the love of Christmas. That’s what this village will remind all of us, that Christ is the light , Christ is our redeemer, Christ , the Lord -made -man, has come to salvage us . So people coming to this village will begin to think about this.
” Of course, I heard of 25 days of Christmas, which means, at the preparatory level ,people will begin to think the correct understanding of Christmas. That a baby is born , the baby will bring joy ,happiness and peace to everybody.. Christ the first light agent . Christ comes to tell us this is the way.,” he said.
He called for support for Governor Mbah , to encourage him to do more works for the state..
Earlier, the minister paid courtesy visit on Governor Mbah , who ,expressed. gratitude receiving her. He said the minister had just completed one year in office, and had done a lot in the Creative and Tourism industry.
Speaking about Enugu state, Governor Mbah said ,” For us also in Enugu State, we are also committed to harnessing the full potentials of tourism and Creative industry. We have a history of that already. This used to be a home of Nollywood. We have other factors that made Enugu an important state.
He disclosed plans to developing the tourism sector and making Enugu a tourist site .
Highlights of the event were the commissioning of Christmas village and , light up of Naira triangle.
