Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah ,Friday, paid his last respect to late Mrs Anthonia Ndu,(nee Obiora) wife of the former senator representing Enugu West Senatorial zone, Ben Collins Ndu at her home town , Oghe in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu state.

The Governor also attended the funeral of former Head of Service, Enugu State Government and former Federal Permanent secretary, Engr. Raymond Okenwa,OON. in his Oruku town, Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu state

Governor Mbah commiserated with the families , urged them “to take heart” and prayed God to grant the souls of the departed eternal rest.

Speaking to newsmen in Oghe, Mrs Chinwe Onyiuke, an elder sister to late Mrs Anthonia Ndu, said they were nine in the family and Mrs Ndu was the last issue . She described her sister as a wonderful, kind hearted and God fearing woman.
” Anthonia , my sister was wonderful . I have been mourning, grieving for her , but the most important thing is that I have to console myself. Anthonia had achieved what a hundred years old person could achieve. I live in the United States of America and each time we come home, we spent time with her. We called her house headquarters because once you come in , Anthonia will give you the best, anything you want.

“We are going to miss her. She was a loving person , she was a wonderful sister, she was somebody you will like have as a friend. and as a sister. She was everything. a sister can have. Am going to miss her terribly . I want you to continue to pray for her children and one thing I promised my sister, Anthonia is that I will continue to take care of her children. I have four children and I consider myself as having nine now, because this is what my sister Anthonia will do for my children. So, Anthonia was wonderful. I promised her I will take care of her children “, Mrs Onyiuke said.

At Oruku, Governor Mbah commiserated with the family of late Oruku leader, Engr Raymond Okenwa.
In his tribute, the son of the former Head of Service and federal Permanent secretary, Ajulu Okenwa described his father as someone ” always willing to make a difference in people’s life.” It always gave him great joy to see people happy. The way he would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He embodied the essence of compassion’,” Ajulu said .
On her part, his daughter ,Somtochukwu Ibezim, said her father’s legacy was “people”.
“He invested in people without holding back. He believed in humanity and the power of doing good,” she said .
Okenwa, an Officer of the Order of the Niger” OON, died st the age of 75.
