Nigeria @64: NUJ  tasks Government on all inclusive developmental programs 

As Nigeria marks her 64th Independence, the Nigeria Union of Journalists Enugu State Council wants Government at all levels to fashion more strategic ways to cushion the effect of economic challenges facing the people.

The union also calls on the government to improve on security challenges and provide more job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths and ensure more infrastructural development in the country.

In a goodwill message Signed by the state Chairman of the Union, Comrade Sam Udekwe and the Secretary, Dame Ifeoma Amuta, the union extols the contributions of our founding fathers and heroes of the nation and urges all hands to be on deck to maintain cohesion of various ethnic groups, promotion of peace and unity and massive industrialization to boost the economy.

The Union also calls on the government and media owners to prioritise the welfare of members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm who work tirelessly to put the people on the know on happenings in the society and make the government accountable to the masses.

The Union urges Journalists in the state to continue to be committed to duty as the watchdog of  society while not loosing guard of the professional ethics of Journalism.

The union describes Nigeria as the giant of Africa which should be rid of corruption, poverty and insecurity.
