Former ALGON Chairman and chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nkanu East, Hon Sydney Okechukwu Edeh, has been declared winner of the September 21 local government election.

This followed the keenly contested election where he polled over 28000 votes to beat the Labour Party, APC, ADC and other candidates .
The council polls had been adjudged free and fair by observers both from Enugu and Abuja who monitored the conduct of the election.
