As the campaign for Local Government elections in Enugu State comes to a close 12 midnight, Thursday,September 19, 2024, Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Chairmanship candidate for Aninri Local Government area, Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku has promised to construct 100 Kilometers roads and empower 200 youths in Aninri within one year in office if voted into power.
He spoke during the grand finale of his campaign held Thursday, at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church Parish field , Oduma, Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Nwanjoku said he will replicate the massive infrastructural development and empowerment, embarked upon by the state Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah in Aninri.
He said,” the Governor, His Excellency, Dr Peter Mbah is building 10,000 Kilometers of roads in Enugu. I will build 100 Kilometers road in Aninri Local Government Area.”
“There is no way Ugo Nwanjoku administration will construct roads in Nnenwe, Aninri West, construct roads in Okpanku, Mpu, Ndiabor , without constructing roads in Oduma ward 4.
“That which Ikeoha ( Distinguished Senator Ike Ekweremadu) did in Okpanku, I will do in Oduma ward 4. That , I will do at Amacharuba(Express Oduma), Oduma ward 1, Oduma ward 2 ,Oduma ward 3, you people will know Oduma people had produced a chairman.
He continued, “Governor Peter Mbah is constructing 1000 Kilometers road for the people of Enugu state, Ugo Nwanjoku with your support, will construct 100 Kilometers roads within one year in office. What am coming to do is to construct roads in the bush. By the time I am done, those in opposition will endorse me for second term. . I will go for second tenure.
” What am setting up here is structure for the Governor to go for second tenure. I, myself will go for second tenure.
” You applaud our Governor that he is working in Enugu, you people will applaud me that I am working in Aninri Local Government Area”, he said.
Prince Nwanjoku who was impressed with the large turn out of his supporters at the campaign ground, thanked God for making it possible for him to become the flag bearer . He also thanked the State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah for his support.
The chairmanship candidate also thanked in a special way his wife, who he said, God had used to bless him .Pouring accolades on his wife, Ugochukwu Nwanjoku announced that the grand finale day happened to be his wife ‘s birthday.
Those who spoke at the event were the former Military Governor of Gombe state, ,Group Captain Joe Orji( Retired), elder brother of Ugochukwu Nwanjoku, Crowned Prince Okezie Nwanjoku, Enerst Ofodile, ,Ofobuike Nwanjoku, Hon. Afam Okafor, and Councilorship candidate,Gladys Ani. They all appealed to voters to vote for the PDP on Saturday.

In an interview, the Deputy Chairmanship candidate, Surveyor( Dr) Ifeanyi Nwalu said he will support the Chairmanship candidate, Ugochukwu Nwanjoku to actualise his plans for Aninri if voted into office .He said they will among other things focus on security and youth empowerment.
Dr Nwalu described his being chosen as the Deputy Chairmanship candidate as a rare privilege given to him by God. He appealed to the people of Aninri to vote for the PDP on Saturday.
Ugochukwu Nwanjoku had on arrival , went to their father’s grave at their family house where ” he prayed and communed with his father’s spirit. He later went to the palace where he was received by the Oduma traditional rulers council and Nwanjoku dynasty, who prayed for him and gave him “ofor” ( Symbol of authority).
Highlights of the event were presentation of ofor to Ugochukwu Nwanjoku by hos elder brother Crowned Prince Okezie Nwanjoku , on behalf of Nwanjoku dynasty. The second ofor was given to him by Ozo Nnanweokpe on behalf of Ohafia Odumeze kingdom
