Office of the wife of Enugu state Governor, Mrs Nkechinyere Mbah in collaboration with her pet project, Custos Care Foundation have trained 100 Enugu youth on vocational, digital skills development to help prepare them for future challenges.
The youth camp which commenced on Tuesday, August 26, and titled “E-Youth Aspire Bootcamp” was organised for youth between 15 to 20 years. The youth were selected across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.

Declaring the event open at Nike Lake Resort, Monday night, Monday night, Governor Mbah said the Five-Day youth camp was designed to ignite the potentials within the youth in state towards achieving greatness.
According to her, the “E” in the “E-Youth Aspire” stood for Enugu, excellence, empowerment and evolution. She explained that the bootcamp would be a blend of physical and intellectual activities carefully created to challenge, inspire and prepare them for the future.

“With the training, we aimed to nurture you over the next few days. During your time here, you would be introduced to a mentor and mentee culture.

“It is an experience designed to holistic ensuring that you develop skills, build career and character and forge meaningful relationship that could shape your future.
“I urge you all to approach this bootcamp with an open mind, ready to learn and pay attention to every lesson, interaction and challenges presented to you.
“This is a rare opportunity and what you make of it is entirely in your hands.
“At the end of this bootcamp, it is my hope that you will leave here not just as participants but as young leaders equip with the knowledge, confidence and vision to aspire to greatness and contribute positively to the growth and development of our beloved state,” she said.
She commended the state Governor Peter Mbah for supporting the programme, saying the initiative was extremely dear to her heart.
Speaking on the topic “Lifestyle Approach To Health,” the Special Adviser to Gov. Mbah on Health, Dr Yomi Jaiye spoke on the importance of regular exercise, eating balance diet and regular consumption of water to keep the body healthy.

He said ,”To achieve this greatness her Excellency is talking about, you must shun alcohol and smoking as well as ensuring stress management and imbibe in personal hygienes.”

In a related development, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Chidiebere Onyia also interacted with the youth. He spoke on spirituality and mentorship . He urged the youth never to loose the spiritual part of their lives, saying ,” God is the ultimate power. Don’t be young to discard your spiritual life,” he said.

Highlight of the event was a lucky derp game in which a sum of N10,000 was given to each of nine winners . The SSG announced free tuition to the best student out of the nine youth winners. He instructed that their academic performances should be monitored till they gained admission into the University, disclosing that he will pay the first tuition of the lucky student.
